I love having Maui family photography sessions at Kapalua Bay.
It’s one of my favorite beaches on the entire island.
The scenery, the light, the waves… it’s all part of Hawaii’s charm.
This sweet family was visiting from the Los Angeles area and they were looking for a unique Maui photographer to capture some fun memories on the beach. The college bound daughters had huge, gorgeous smiles and were so photogenic. They definitely balanced each other out and you could instantly tell that they had a strong bond. We had fun taking artsy shots down by the water while practicing Star Trek gang signs. Too Funny! My family portraits have a very candid look and feel to them because we are out there having FUN! What you see is what you get. It’s such a great feeling when my clients tell me how fun and memorable their Maui family portrait session with me was. It reminds me of why I absolutely love being a photographer.
We shot these family portraits right after sunrise. The light quality of early morning sessions can be just as magical as sunset portraits. I like to give my clients the option to choose which time is best for them. For morning people I always recommend the early shoot. It’s definitely the way to go if you want the rest of the day free to explore and relax on our beautiful island. Here is a recent family portrait shoot I had at sunset time if you’d like to compare the quality of the light. http://naomidsheikin.com/2013/07/23/maui-family-photos-kapalua-bay/
